My latest sugar shoe for a 30th birthday with a 70’s disco themed party. I love disco balls and the gold glam look of the disco era. So I decided to combine the two here with a super gold sugar shoe complete with a clear Isomalt heel and spangly disco ball. I added some gold feathers to finish off the 70’s theme. I only used a mould to set the isomalt heel, but the rest was done freehand and dried on a piece of food grade plastic supported by a small bottle! The disco ball was done by drying the ball hard, covering it in further white fondant and using an xacto knife to cut in tiny squares. This shoe took me 2.5 weeks all up to create, dry and colour, especially to achieve the spangly gold tones which are layers of edible glitter, lustre dust and airbrushing. The red numbers are isomalt and the board is covered in fondant and sanding sugar, then airbrushed in gold. Dance on disco lovers x
