I was asked by a wonderful local charity that does tremendous work feeding the homeless in Austin to create a cake that looked exactly like a Thundercloud Sub, since the owners were to be honored at their big gala. Thundercloud is a great local chain, & the one just up from my house has a big sign out front that is a huge sub sandwich & they put a huge party hat on it for their 40th birthday. So I thought it would be cute & the owners would get a big kick out of the cake wearing a party hat too!

The sub cake is White Velvet cake with White chocolate buttercream, modeling chocolate & fondant ‘condiments’. I got some of the sandwich wrapping paper from the store to give a more realistic look, too. We also served over 200 people at the gala with Hot Chocolate & White Velvet cutting cakes.
