I’m so honoured to be part of this incredible collaboration!
42 amazing cake designers from 17 countries around the world have come together to celebrate the Festival of Vesak. Each artist has created a cake to honor the triple anniversary of Lord Buddha – his birth, his attaining Enlightenment and his passing away into Nirvana.
I wanted to recreate a typical lantern decorated with wafer paper. I loved the idea to make it appear that flew, so I decided to make a hanging cake. I painted a Chinese girl seated on a lotus leaf looking at the dragonfly on the quilled lotus. I also added frangipani flowers on the top. Hope you like it :-) xx
