I am so honored to be part of Vesak Festival cake collaboration with 42 amazing Sugar Artists from around the world. Vesak is one of the biggest days of the year in the Buddhist calendar and is celebrated by Buddhists all over the world. During this time, people celebrate the triple anniversary of Lord Buddha – his birth, his attaining of Enlightenment and his passing away into Nirvana.

My cake inspiration is based on Borobudur Stupa and Lantern. Borobudur is one of the famous Buddhist temple in the world that located on my original country (Indonesia). I feel inspired to bring that to my cake. So I took one of the stupa, put it on the top tier and inside I put light to make it look like lantern as well, then I combined it with the lotus’s petal. On the bottom tier I painted lotus flowers and on the board i made lotus lantern.
