This cake was a last minute cake and originally going to be the basketball by itself but changed as more people were invited to the party and I added the two shoe cakes. There was a fabulous tutorial by Fifi’s Cakes to get me started with the sizing of the shoe and then selected a style of Basketball shoe that I would like to roughly base my shoes on. I used the side of a cheese grater for the texture on the shoe and ball and added some lines and further texture with fondant tools. The text was done via edible printer. The ball had a surprise when opening with m&m’s and lollies. The kids were delighted! The board has a wooden finish made from fondant.
