This year, I decided to treat my Mum to a special cake and afternoon tea. It had to keep 3 generations happy (hence the hula hoops & sausage rolls!). I made fondant fancies for the first time (Mr Kipling deserves every penny for making those little devils each day!). The kids had fun making the mini scones and there were empty plates all round. Maybe not quite as civilised as Tea at The Ritz (!) but it meant I had fun trying out some new things and we all had a lovely afternoon.
The cake was white chocolate & lemon, filled with blueberry preserve and white chocolate buttercream It’s decorated with a sugar rose and royal icing stenciling.
