Painted hat box cake "Evelyn"

Few weeks ago I had a call about the cake and the lady wanted a very simple and plain cake. No way I was going to make plain cake, but when I made it, I was so afraid that the client will be angry with me. Thanks goodness, it was such a lovely lady and she didn’t mind it after all! But I decided I better not to do this in a future, unless I know the person very well.
Roses are free hand-painted.

I would be so thrilled to receive this gorgeous cake. I know what you mean though,I tried to go the extra mile and do a special surprise on a cake, backfired on me as they were not pleased. 😳
