I made gelatin sequins of varying sizes and the red wafer paper flower is inspired by Cameron Diaz’s lips and nails. It was my first attempt at pleating in this way, I’d like to try this technique again and improve upon it.

I had a little disaster when I was photographing…the back board I was using fell and knocked over the cake! Nooooo! Unfortunately I’d only taken a couple of shots so it required intensive care, lots of sequins went astray and I lost the flower! Lesson learnt to take more care!
