New Year mantel clock

New Year mantel clock

This was the New Years celebration cake I made for my eldest daughter’s in-laws. Every Christmas they send mountains of chocolate for my younger children and I always send them a ‘New Year’ cake by return! This year they had this mantel clock, all chocolate through and through. It was completely decorated in white fondant before being airbrushed and handpainted (my first time completing a cake this way) and finished with a sugar poinsettia. I actually found it a surprisingly simple cake to make, just as well as I didn’t really leave myself enough time and ended up rushing to get it finished – I hope you like it :)
