I made this fellow for the Christmas in Frostington charity collaboration. This was the first cakey collaboration I have taken part in and I have absolutely loved it. It has been such a thrill to be included in a line-up of so many uber-talented artists, and so exciting to see the final reveal of the amalgamated village.

I wanted to make a characterful figure that would challenge my modeling skills, so opted for a slightly wonky bent leg and stooped posture, as if struggling to hold on to too many presents. He is deliberately top heavy, making the structure and counter-balancing quite a challenge, but I do enjoy a challenge! He is sculpted entirely from sugarpaste.

CakeyCake is a relatively new business, established just two years ago whilst I was on maternity leave with my daughter. I am completely self-taught and am extremely passionate about what I do.
