What a fun but mega challenging cake this was to make! This is my take on a superhero birthday cake for my nephew. I got to practice airbrushing a bit more too. The board is covered with fondant, and airbrushed blue, red, brown. and black. The web is hand-painted. The spider’s abdomen is all cake, covered with a marbled modeling chocolate/fondant blend. The head area is rkt and modeling chocolate. The underneath is a mix of rkt and modeling chocolate. The legs are modeling chocolate over a wire armature. To finish him off, I rubbed black food coloring into the joints and over the body for some depth. Super duper love this guy! Thanks for looking! :)
