This cake, in tribute to Armistice Day has been made out of modelling chocolate and coloured only with black and white edible dust colours with the only other colour being the red poppies.
I chose a black and white theme as I wanted to create a moving scene and a poignant message.
It took me approximately 100 hours to make. I am 21 and have only been cake decorating for little over a year now. This is my 2nd Gold Award at Cake International. Last year I entered a Monster’s University Cake.
The show takes place every year on the weekend of Remembrance Day and I felt that it would never be a more appropriate time to make such a cake.
