My housemate has been away on a long break and has entrusted me with the house for several weeks – happy to report that the house is not burnt down!

She’s finally back this week and I thought what better way to celebrate the occasion (plus the fact that I did not take into consideration finding streamers and banners that says “Welcome Back” is not easy to find in supermarkets!) than to say welcome back, a la Van Goh Cakes.

The toppers on this cake represented her trip to her hometown in Malaysia, London, and Paris and a luggage bag.

And there’s no better way to say “welcome back” than to write it in beautiful typography – this is really my first time attempting it, and in such cases, Pinterest works a treat. Don’t look too close at what you may think is a butterfly. It’s supposed to be one, just doesn’t look like one.
