Made this cake for the installation celebration of my new pastor. Round cake is chocolate and sheet cake is yellow cake. Both done in butter cream. I hadn’t made butter cream roses in a long time so they didn’t turn out that great. I had intended to make a pulpit cake but at the last minute decided to make a wood pulpit instead. This way the pastor could have it as a keepsake.
The pulpit is made of two 3×3 inch wood boxes glued together and the top is the lid of one of the boxes glued on a slant to make it look like a pulpit, then stained. Details are a paper Bible with a verse printed on it, and hand shaped wire glasses and a felt runner with a cross pin. I think the guest liked the pulpit more than the cake.
