Hi everyone,

I know I’ve been rather quiet these last few weeks. My crazy summer took a toll on me, and I ended up suffering a bit of a burn-out :( So I’ve been trying to take it easy, recover and get my head straight over what to do next with my work/life (to cake or not to cake, that is the question…). I’m sorry if I haven’t been commenting as much on all your lovely work – I’ve been trying to check in every so often to keep up with all your creations and posts, but regrettably I know that I’ve missed quite a few along the way.

This is one my cakes from back in July that I made for my 4-year old son’s birthday. I only had a few hours to put this together and was running on about 3 hours of sleep. I used a great tutorial from the Royal Bakery that I purchased several months ago – I didn’t have time to follow it to the letter, but it was very helpful in guiding me through some of the details. I would definitely recommend it as a very useful tute.

Overall, I’m very happy with how my minion turned out considering how little time I had. He’s funny and goofy just like my son and when I look at him, he makes me smile (also like my son ;) I hope you like it too and thank you for looking! xx
