Here is a bee hive cake I did for a baby reveal cake.. it is a 10-9-8-6 inch one-layer each tiers.
I frosted in buttercream.. really took a while to build up edges meeting up to sides of cake to look more like it flowed rather than sharp edges.. then it went rather quickly piping bee’s in BC. I also filled in door w/ black buttercream and smoothed w/ small black angled spatula dipped in warm water… shaking off excess. I did use sugar daisies, instead of piping, because I thought they added a bit of whimsy.
I also used a #5 or #6 tip to drip a little honey off corners.. cake was all yellow, so I didn’t want to use a tan color for honey~
