When I had my latest Free Cakes For Kids request for a Frozen theme cake I was delighted – the brief was for a little girl calked Anna-May who loves Elsa and Olaf.
I had a picture in mind and happily set off, covering the cake with pale blue sugar paste. Next morning, bulges, air bubbles, cracks – the lot – and no time or sugar paste to re cover :(
The heat had done it’s worst. My husband has just bought me a printer and this seemed the time to test it out! Found some pictures on the internet, printed onto icing sheets and made a “collar” all round to cover the nightmare – thankfully it seemed to work. Also good that with children – the “less is more” gives way to “more is more” so on with the decorating to cover the rest of the horror story!
Thanks to The Custom Cakery for letting me use their snowflake sticks idea – love it!
Don’t think I have ever sweated so much over a cake – and as it was for a little girl from a Women’s Refuge I so wanted to get it right – hopefully she was happy with her cake, and matching cupcakes.
Thanks for looking – and reading!
