Peacock cake for a wedding. All edible decor in with everything done in gumpaste. It was my first time modeling a figure with gumpaste and it turned out really well.

Thank you everyone. I had several trials on the feathers… and this was the best way with least breakage. They were so beautiful in person, it was hard to catch in the photos… but the way I dusted the main part with blue on the edges of the teal colored gumpaste, then pearl over top made them look iridescent or something?
It was a take on the cakes I see a lot with the tails made out of flowers, but the peacock is usually 2D. I wish now that we’d added something to embellish the actual cake, even just some ribbons around them at the bases of the tiers, but the bride wanted nothing to distract from the peacock. So, what do you do? :D
