I made this cake for a little girl who loves nature – I had free reign over the design so I decided to make a tree stump, covered in little woodland creatures and foliage, featuring two cute little mice and ladybirds spelling the name scarlet.

I’ve always loved floral crowns made from wildflowers, so I decided to make a sugar version and place it on top of the cake so that the birthday girl could wear it for a bit of fun and keep it as a memento.
