A friend of mine asked me to make a very small cake for her mother, for four people. It was her birthday and she told me to make her mother at the swimming pool. She started to describe me what she wears when she swims, her swimming earphones, Her black sack her yellow flippers and her bright red lipstick, always super femenine.

She´s preparing herself with her earphones before start swimming, looking at the swimming pool. I wanted to be with a cute and girly posture, that´s why I didn´t wanted to model her swimming. She´s made with gumpaste, and standing over the real cake: the floor and swimming pool tiles.

I placed the cake at the bottom to create depth sensation, using the perspective to make you believe she´s at a large swimming pool.

Sometimes I forget to say if something is hand painted, because I always paint my cakes. This cake is also hand painted, the water has pippinn gel to. All the tiles are painted…well, nearly everything has a painting touch.
