This cake was fraught with problems, I almost wept. I had been planning it for ages, Jemma is a dancer and I wanted to show a little girl’s shoes as she grew up, culminating with a stiletto on the top. However, had a huge disaster with the shoe at the very last minute and had to improvise with a bow. I felt as if I had let Jemma down, but luckily her mum is one of my best friends and was very understanding (phew). The bottom tier is caramel mud cake and the top tier is lemon and raspberry.
