"Vintage Circus Train"

My adult son requested for a “train cake”… as he loved the one he had as a child!
16” long pineapple coconut cake (surprise M&M’s enclosed). Airbrushed sunset scenery artwork, overlaid with handpainting. Piped writing and scroll work on top, vintage style. Hand crafted edible vintage circus train, with caged elephant, monkey and lion. Board fondant covered and textured with royal icing and airbrushed. Progel colours.
The 1995 cake was inspired by The Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book. My children would flip through it for weeks, prior to their birthday, choosing their cake, and changing their mind countless times… right up ‘till their birthday! …although if they chose the train cake first, you could pretty much guarantee their mind wouldn’t alter!
