A 2-tier cake with sugar frame, berries and open peony. The peony was actually my “homework” from a Saturday afternoon class at my local British Sugar Guild. I decided it needed a cake to display it!! The frame I made with individual pieces of Marvelous Moulds and dusted to give it a slightly aged look.

This cake gave me the opportunity to trial a polished concrete effect on the bottom tier…not sure if it something my wedding cake clients will request but I love the contemporary look it provides to the ornate frame and delicate sugar peony & berries.
