A SUPER CAKE MOMS COLLABORATION!
51 cake artists from around the world recently came together to honor a very special group of people…MOTHERS! I was so honoured to be part of this incredibly talented group. Everybody had to choose the flower from the list.
I chose the hibiscus , because it’s reminds me a paradise, it is a symbol of summer, warmth and sunshine for me! Coming to New Zealand from cold Russia 13 years ago, where six months of the year it is ice and snow, I’ve been always dreaming about a paradise and I found it here in beautiful New Zealand! I dedicated this cake to my “Mama”, who is still in Russia. She brought us ( me and my brother) in the “Cold War” period in Soviet Union. This was a very hard times and she sacrificed a lot to give us a better life! I wish my Mum was closer, so I could make her a real Pina Colada!!! I haven’t physically seen her for two years. She couldn’t visit us this year, because of the ear operation she had earlier. So I crossed my fingers, that everything will go fine for us and we will able to see my Mama next European summer…
I wish to all Mums in the world to have a very Happy Mother’s Day! You all need to be appreciated for what you’ve done and sacrificed for your kids!
