A long time ago in the far away land, I received a very special gift from my aunt, a huge book of classic fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen. I was so in love with the story of the “tiny little thing” that I wished that I was her in an adventure meeting fairies and animals and sleeping in a flower and braving the 4 seasons…To have opportunity to recreate Thumbelina in sugar has once more sparked the little fairytale dreamer in me after so many years ..
(Yes, I have kept this book for a loooong time, published 1974 and it is the first publication !!!)
Btw, this cake just won first place at the Cake Walk event for the Mark Twain Library Springtime Festival.
