Made this cake for a 21st birthday. My client ordered it for her daughter, whom she described as an “old soul” who loves the romantic 30’s and 40’s. She also wanted the design to tie into the gift she bought her daughter, a luxury Debbie Brooks clutch purse with red roses all over it. It was a bit of a last minute order and I had to bake, assemble and decorate all in one day, but I’m thrilled with how it turned out. I’m even more thrilled at my client’s reaction, who got goose bumps and got a little teary (in a good way) when she saw it. Love it when my cakes make this kind of emotional impact.
