The woodland theme wedding cake I made for my brother’s wedding. My brother and his wife loves nature! They go on bird watching treks and other nature treks like frog spotting etc. I wanted to create a sort-of typical wedding cake with the pretty sugar flowers and their initials in the front of the cake, and the back of the cake to have more of a swamp feel with a handmade frog, dragonflies, some birds and butterflies. I added some sugar succulents, roses, a magnolia topper and some filler berries and hydrangeas around the cake. And to keep the woods feel, I created one tier of the cake like a bark of wood with their initials etched on it! Once I started making the cake, many things obviously changed from my initial idea. But at the end, it’s one of my cakes I’m most proud of.
