I made this cake for my oldest son’s 14th birthday. whew We (engineer hubby) built the structure out of mdf and electrical pvc and screwed it into the base that is mdf also. It’s mdf square base, “s” shape pvc and a small 5" round mdf plate screwed on top of the “s” shaped pvc. We used a center dowel drilled into the mdf 5" round for extra support for the cake half. The bottom third is rkt covered in ganache and the top two-thirds is cake all wrapped with fondant strips. The car, and other debris are fondant, the tree is fondant with wire branches and royal frosting leaves.

Thank you! It didn’t take as long as I thought it would, but it was still a loooong process. At one point when I was adding the fondant strips, it started leaning so I had to add a little extra fondant on the opposite side to counter balance! Probably would have been freaking out if it was for a client!! :)
