Topic tags/keywords: advice recipe how-to question

Looking for a little advice or even just some really good, tried-and-true recipes here! I still work full-time at a University, just doing cakes in my spare time on the weekends but love to bring in cupcakes and treats for the Grad students in my labs (they love being guinea pigs lol). Recently I’ve had a Postdoc join one of my labs who’s allergic – I really want to include her in the treats I bring, but have never even attempted any gluten-free baking at all! As I said, any and all help, advice, recipes would be most welcome! Thanks so very much!

I have a few recipes on my food blog—I suggest printing them since I don’t know how long I’ll be keeping it. I’m moving to a new domain soon.

http://www.missionvegan.com/

They’re allergen-free since they are gluten free and vegan (most are also nut-free). You can sort out the gluten-free recipes by choosing the gluten free category on the right sidebar. I have recipes/links to recipes for chocolate cake, vanilla/lemon cake, chocolate chip cookies, bread, banana bread… Let me know if you try any and how you like them! The cakes are best if made a day or two in advance. Store in a tupperware container at room temp.

Another thing I just thought of…

I don’t know how sensitive the person you’re baking for is, but you might want to consider using new, untainted measuring cups, spoons, bowls, etc to avoid cross contamination. Anything that has previously touched gluten should be avoided.

Don’t know if anyone else was/is interested in Gluten-Free baking or recipes, but I found a great blog – http://glutenfreecanteen.com/ and thought I’d share! I’ve yet to attempt any of their recipes, but was just so impressed with the overall look and diversity I wanted to let you all know in case you wanted to check them out too ;)
