I charged 200 and I think I should have charged more it’s a 10in 10 in high and 8in 8in high

Hi, Sharon, I think this is a problem most cake designers go through at one point in their careers. In order to charge the appropriate price you need to know your cost – including the time you spend baking and decorating. You also need to research what your area charges for similar cakes – don’t go by grocery store prices because your custom-made cakes are not the same as the ones they sell. Establish a base price and go up from there. Don’t underestimate your work or your worth because clients will follow suit. Hope this helps!

HI Fun Fiesta, I wasn’t the one who asked, it was Amber xx :)

Oooh my gosh Amber…ALL THOSE SQUARES. I definitely think $200 was too low as I also did a Minecraft cake (much smaller though) and I know how long it takes to do squares…over..and over…and over. LOL Yours are ENDLESS. You have the patience of a saint my dear! :)
I charged $80 for this double- layer 8-inch which was for a friend. MUCH LESS in the squares department than yours.

Hi, Sharon,

I’m so sorry :( – BTW, I agree with you about all those squares – nightmarish!

Oh please don’t be silly Fun Fiesta! Xx (..and yes… I would probably develop a square-phobia after that
..haha!)
