My Little Kitchen Tour

I`ve just been admiring the amazing cake spaces that people have shared on here and I thought I would add mine.
As a single mum working from our rented home, I have limited funds and can make limited changes.
I moved here 3 years ago with no money or supplies. My landlord kindly agreed to me replacing the carpet in the dining room with lino and I`ve bought everything else gradually. The dining room connects to the kitchen so I managed to pass the council inspection. And once I`d registered, got my food safety certificate, insurance and so on, I was good to go!

I love my oven just for my cakes, but the units were the cheapest I could find, the bookcase is one I`d had for years, the computer desk is second hand, I made the curtains and my picture frames and plastic boxes are from the pound shop….when I`ve made my first million, I`m going to have such a massive spending spree!!!

I painted everywhere white to keep it as bright as possible. The room actually has really poor light but I`m not sure what I can do about that. I have my favourite quote on the wall over my computer “I`m not telling you it is going to be easy, I`m telling you it`s going to be worth it”…which I look at A LOT!
I buy supplies as I go along and equipment when I can. I`ve managed to buy a few little luxuries though. I see my airbrush as a luxury….and I`d love an airbrush booth! But for now, I use my cake delivery boxes under the extractor fan in the kitchen :) (oh yes, I`ve read every kitchen hack and use what I can)

And my essentials are my radio, coffee and chocolate….they see me through many late nights! Thanks for stopping by x

Great space

This looks such a lovely place to work – you have done a beautiful job and it just shows that you don’t have to have the swankiest kitchen – just a lot of love and creativity xx

And Sawsen, my ribbon spool is just a tension rod that`s normally used for net curtains :)
