My Cake Studio (Kitchen Tour)
Ok so these are my little spaces for decorating.
1. This is the large area in my relatively new reno’d kitchen nestled near 2 sunny windows and close to my kitchen sink. I do all my baking here, stacking, fondant rolling etc. My kitchen use to be less than half of what I have now. I also have a good size island/counter 3 ft x 5 ft on the opposite end, attached to a 5 ft. counter, where we usually eat breakfast. It’s right by my french doors to my backyard and it gets a lot of sunshine. I use that space to sit and do my finishing touches on my cakes.
Above photos are my old Ikea kitchen island in my basement where I create, play, make sugar flowers, figures etc. Old Ikea shelf from my now grown daughters bedroom re-purposed to hold all my supplies. I also have a old child’s dresser I couldn’t get into the picture that holds odds and ends….my rolling pins, cake boards, cake dummies, material for back drop….and all the interesting things you pick up along your travels and need a place to live. ❤️

June, that is one great work surface! What I wouldn’t give for a work space that big XD
Oh Sawsen if I could have shown my old kitchen!!! That Ikea island was IT!!! Literally. No kitchen table, cause there was no room. My kitchen is probably 2-3 x’s what it was. It was a postage stamp size. But, you know, I coped. I use to use my 4th bedroom/catch all room & dining room to put all my stuff. Now that 4th bedroom is my grandson’s bedroom. Daughter’s room is now our computer/tv room/my girl cave. I waited 25 yrs for these changes….

Yup Nancy…. Stainless steel tables never wear out, and it’s a great investment . I wanted to move my old Ikea island upstairs, but it was too heavy and awkward. Would have preferred that…

All my cakey stuff is buried in a small bottom cupboard, but my kitchen is tiny ;-(

Thanks all. I love, love my new kitchen….and although my space downstairs is very organized, big OCD Agatha!! ….it has no sink, so I have to trot up & down the stairs to my kitchen ….but I’m thankful for my little space…and hey, it’s good exercise….hee hee.

Glad you got your cakey space after all that waiting June! My kitchen is small too so I know where you’re coming from, have to keep very on top of cleaning and tidying or the little space there is all disappears! I’m hoping it won’t take me 25 years to get a nice work surface like that though! <3<3
