For Goodness Sake, It's Just A Cake (Poem)

We’ve probably all been there when a potential client says “How much?!!!” I had a response like that today which was rather rude and then put me in a bad mood…so I made up this poem and thought I would share it with all of you :)

For Goodness Sake, It’s Just A Cake

Remember people it can take,
Hours and hours to make your cake,
And there are other factors behind the scenes,
That can push the price beyond your means.

Equipment & ingredients – the very best!
Classes and insurance – in which I invest.
Boxes, boards and electricity.
None of this stuff comes for free!

I put so much love in all I do,
And I understand the price may seem high to you,
But I am creating something so much more,
Than the generic cake bought from the store.

Think about your own career
An hourly rate or salary per year?
And if you were asked to work for free
You wouldn’t do it, so please don’t ask me.
