Stamping.

Odd title i know, i have done three cakes now using flexible rubber stamps these work great as they can bend around a cake when you imprint them, it’s best to do it as soon as you have covered the cake in fondant as you need it soft. I also like the fact you get a raised imprint because it just adds to the whole texture/look of the cake.
I used a 000 sable paintbrush to paint all the black outlines using sugarflair paste and vodka, i then filled in with my other colours, it is hard to explain that bit as there is a lot of mixing and adding/taking away you just need to follow your judgement. i have added a few pictures to show my progress if you have any questions please ask.

Thanks so much for sharing. Am kicking myself now as I used to make cards and had lots of brand new stamps, I gave them all away grrrr! Will definitely try this out, looks brilliant.

TFS Liz, what a good idea using stamps to imprint on the fondant, never thought of doing that. Your painted cakes are all fabulously done! xx
