In the beginning, there were diyas. What better symbolizes the festive spirit of Diwali than a perky, earthy brown diya spreading its brand of joy, hope and that ethereal glowing light ? The diyas were what came to the mind first when a Diwali themed cake was in the making for the Diwali day wedding of Jakes Bejoy with Anna. Dull gold and beige was the desired combination of the groom.
The theme called for an ethnic ensemble. Multi petalled lotuses formed their shape to adorn the cake by the wedding monogram. True to the colour scheme called for, they were made in off white with gold flecks thrown in for good measure.
Wishing the couple an eternity filled with everything that a diya promises with its simple light.
