a couple of days ago, there was a cake exhibition called “Taart en Trends” in the Netherlands. There was also a competition with real cake which I participated too. The theme was “Celebrate the sixties”. With this
Marilyn Monroe cake I ended third place in the category silver.
The middle layer is a ring of fondant. I’ve made that a few weeks ago, so it could dry and look like parchment paper. I could push it over the real cake that I baked a few days before the contest. The middle layer I painted Marilyn Monroe on pastillage.
The cake was a blueberry cake filled with homemade lemon curd and homemade blueberry jam.
Not only is it gorgeous but the flavor sounds delicious!
