I’ve been wanting to practice cake painting for some time now and this was the perfect opportunity – don’t you just love it when people say – “do whatever you want as long as it’s pink” – I based it very loosely on a Cath Kidston pattern I love and added the bow and the number one to make sure it didn’t look too wedding-y! Probably the most difficult cake in terms of this summer heat we have so I did most of it late at night with a fan blowing so it was as cool as possible but it’s still not quite as ‘sharp’ as I would have liked – but I was happy with the outcome :o)
