Made this fun and colorful “Pocoyo” themed cake for little Nathaniel’s first birthday celebration sometime in March before my cake break in April.

I wanted this cake to tell a story and not be just a cake with posing characters. The cake featured a sugar figure of Pocoyo sitting on some puffy clouds and holding on to his favorite balloon. As the story goes, poor Pocoyo is up in the clouds because his friend, the very Sleepy Bird, has fallen asleep while manning a bunch of colorful balloons and has allowed them to drift up into the clouds with Pocoyo! Oh dear… Not that Pocoyo minded, judging from the smile on his happy face!

Thanks so much Dina, Fiona and Jen! I was on just a short break when the commission came for the massive Madagascar cake. I promise I am taking off in June… fingers crossed! Toes too! :)
