Turning 80 is a huge moment in any person’s life and definitely a time to celebrate happy memories and achievements with those that you love. So, a huge shout out goes to Lorna, who turned 80 over of the weekend. I was informed that Lorna is a sophisticated lady and a great lover of tea. So, there was no better way to represent this sophistication and love of tea other than the incorporation of pearls and teacups into my design! Cake shouldn’t just be a taste sensation or merely a feast for the eyes; it should also give meaning to each individual, bearing in mind who the cake is created for, what they represent and what they love. So, with this in mind, I decided to incorporate an octagonal tier to represent each decade of Lorna’s wonderful life. That, and with me being of Chinese heritage, I like that the number 8 is such a lucky number, meaning wealth in all aspects of life. So, with this in mind, we, at Miss Couture wish Lorna a happy 80th birthday and may she have a wealth of love, good health and happiness! xx
