So there I was on Monday down at Ciccio talking cake with Jo, my kids running off their yummy cakepops and hot chocolate when Jo got a call to do a cake for this week. Already fully comitted, Jo passed the phone over to me and we discussed requirements. Following phone calls enabled me to convince this lovely lady that her son’s 21st should be marked with an impact cake. One catch, her son was studing her science! Aargh, not an easy topic.
Well lucky for me, Jo also has a Science degree so we chatted and she made some awesome suggestions for the cake then I added some and what you see is the result.
Einstein is made entirely out of modelling chocolate as is Newton’s apple which is a medium I have not worked with before for modelling and I have to say I am hooked.
Thank goodness for google who reminded me of my periodic table and of course the molecules for caffeine (on the front of the cake) which as cake decorators we all seem so familiar with the effects of.
So once again a HUGE thank you to Jo who not only gave me the job but also helped with ideas for this very unscientific mind of mine.
