Lifeguard to the Rescue...

The brief regarding this cake: the girl’s mom wanted a “pool” cake for her daughter’s boyfriend’s birthday (both 18 years old) who happens to work as a lifeguard during summers. She wanted something small that will be a total surprise to Andy. So had to do the red shorts (of course), the girl in the pool waiting to be rescued… She also wanted to keep it simple so no “girly” stuff such as flowers!

It’s a 6" triple layer chocolate cake with chocolate ganache in between layers, covered with ganache then with a layer of chocolate buttercream on the sides and blue buttercream on top with Kit Kat of course!

I must say this is my first time making figurines and I must admit it is not easy especially when they are small. I found it hard to hold it in my hand and try to shape it without damaging it or squeeze hard on it. Oh well, there is a first for everything and this was MY first :-))
