Hollie's Christening Cake!

Hollie's Christening Cake!
Hollie's Christening Cake! Hollie's Christening Cake!

A two tiered cake for Hollie on her Christening day, Hollie was 10 when she chose to be Christened, so her mum asked for a more grown up cake and really liked the white cake withe the butterflies that i made last year, so this is a two tier version and i think it came out beautifully! The top tier is a vanilla cake with jam and buttercream and the bottom tier is a pastel layer cake with vanilla buttercream. I hope you had a wonderful day Hollie!

Dear Hollie,

Such an amazing cake.
I would like to ask you how you did the butterflies… They look awesome.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful cake

Hi Emine,
The butterflies are fondant with some tylo added for strength. I used 2 different sized cutters and then dried them over folded card to get the open wing shape. When dried i dusted the centres with pink dust and then painted the tips with edible lustre paint. I used royal icing to make the body and to stick them to the cake!
