I used 2 layers of 7” round for both the bottom and top. Carved the top to a dome shape. Bottom trimmed to be slightly smaller at base. I used a tall dowel on each side, covered with black fondant, to prop the lid up (a little more than halfway from the back). I added4 Dowels a bit from the edge in the back (cut to the level of the cake). Grill strips sprayed with silver food color. Veggies and shrimp made with marshmallow fondant. Shrimp painted with very light peach and a touch of brown food coloring (thinned with vodka). The extreme humidity here in East Texas caused the overall shiny effect. For once humidity was on my side!!

So cute
I hate using this word, but this is awesome, Becky! Everything, including the grill, is so realistic and successfully transporting it with the heavy, cake top is an engineering miracle!
