Catalina, it’s been an honor to be invited back to this annual collaboration and to be part of something really special.
For the “World Cancer Day Sugarflowers and Cakes in Bloom collab”, I wanted to create something that evoked hope, happiness and a bright future, that any cancer survivor would feel, I assume. I’m very thankful to God that I’ve not been inflicted with this scary disease but I’ve been by the side of family and friends who’ve gone through it, some of whom didn’t win their fight. I’ve used Satin Ice fondant throughout my design, as well as AmeriColor airbrush edible colors. The really wonderful tool called the Dragéekíss Pearl Applicator made it easy on me to add those edible pearls to the water jug.
