This was my entry at cake international in birmingham last weekend!

Meet Gordon the grumpy golden eagle! He won a Gold award! I was so pleased!

He took me 3 weeks to make and every single feather has been individually sculpted and painted.
His eyes are made of isomalt and painted with edible dusts and cocoa butter.

I didnt have the heart to throw him out so I have decided to make use of him. Gordon visits local primary schools in my hometown where I give some fun facts about golden eagles and how he was made! The children love him! Although there are one or two who are a bit weary of him haha bless.
Each child is given the chance to play with fondant and they get to eat it too if they want!

Making on golden eagle has been on my bucket list for so long im glad i finally ticked it off! although never again will i do a bird this size if I ever see another feather again i’ll scream! haha
