My husband’s woodland birthday cake. Top tier is a margarita cake with shades of green SMBC. Covered in fondant tree branches, ferns, flowers, butterflies and a friendly unicorn owl.
Bottom dummy tree trunk tier my 4 1/2 year old grandson Hudson help me make. Was a bit than than disappointed with how the cake came out. Envisioned a more classy woodsy look. I made gumpaste plaque, with a cardinal for the front of the cake. Unfortunately, plaque broke in half when I picked it up to place on the cake. C’est la vie, it happens. I wasn’t about to make another one. So…plan B. In a couple of hours made a quick owl for the cake board. Hubby certainly doesn’t care, as long as the cake tastes good!!🤗🤗
