This was quite a challenge! It was made for a colleague who is retiring this month and who has played an active part in the Women’s Library. The statue represents Millicent Fawcett, an influential feminist who campaigned for women’s right to vote during the early 20th century.

The statue is made from Saracino modelling paste on a small dummy and is dusted with bronze lustre dust. The edible copy is of my colleague’s book cover.

The cake colours represent the colours of the Women’s movement in the UK. I love how personalised cakes can be!
