This was made for the Mary Rose museum in Portsmouth historic dockyard to celebrate Henry VIII’s birthday this week.
The base tier was textured and decorated to represent the wood of the Mary Rose ship, with an edible image of the museum’s logo.
The middle tier featured a painting of Henry on an edible image along with textured and lusted panels in burgundy and gold to look like tapestry.
The top tier was dusted in gold edible dust and then lustre and featured textured cut-outs.
Henry himself was hand-modelled using Saracino paste.
