My name is Natalia Salazar, I am a visual artist and I have been involved in the world of decorative pastry since 2010.
My work is called “The Kiss” I have been inspired by the famous works that have made kisses like Klimt, Rodan and many more, because in the history of art there are many works that have represented it as the essence of love. Also, I used the colors of the rainbow to represent happiness and that psychedelia of the 70s inspired by the Beatles song “All you need is love”. I think it’s a theme that makes us unfold the imagination and in my case I chose the kiss because it’s how a relationship starts and we can give it to who we love, man or woman, regardless of gender, social status or beliefs.
I worked my piece with chocolate modeling clay, edible coloring and dust of Cherry and Cake and Cake Boutique. The cake is a model covered with fondant, hand painted and outlined with royal icing.
Thank you very much for the opportunity Isa and Val and I hope to be up to the participants. It really cost me that I stayed as I wanted.
