The groom is a huge fan of J R R Tolkein, so I included some subtle references in the sugar flowers! The concept I was going for was “flowers from Samwise Gamgee’s garden”. With a bit of artistic license, the flowers and foliage are: rose, lilac, niphredil (which I’ve imagined as slender white bluebell-like flowers), lissuin (a fragrant flower – my interpretation is similar to sweet violet), mallorn leaves (similar to beech) and the “leaves of Lórien” based on the ones in the film version.
